great stuff Omair, but these guys don't have the lasting power with me for some reason

Thats the case with everything post-Judgement for me.

Yes, we know Nero.
How excited would you be if they pulled a Paradise Lost and returned with a one off doom metal album?
|
| |
They'd need Darren White for that

Vinny can scream, or develop his technique further. I actually think they could release a cool atmospheric doom album.
|
| |
His harsh vocals on The Silent Enigma were nowhere near as good as Darren's on Serenades. They obviously wont go back to death/doom but something along the lines of Judgement would be great.

They used to hate even talking about the old days, but this year they had the concerts spanning their whole discography, so they might be open to releasing maybe even one song in that vain.
They'd have to be in that depressive mindset again to release something like Judgement. I think they'll be going into electronic territory now. If that's in the vain of Storm before the calm, then I'll really be looking forward to that.

Agreed so damn hard. The build up is so intense, Vinny's vocals are great, and that solo is fantastic

Anyone else just cry at the climax of Internal Landscapes? Everytime it hits me like a brick :[

I don't think I could allow myself to give an album a low 3 rating if it makes me bawl my eyes out
but yes, agreed

It's the first 2 tracks and last track that makes this worthwhile, but the rest is pretty lackluster and the album is so simular throughout. Hitting the name emotion everytime with simular fashion gets old, and especally when the quality of the album is like a valley.

The 2 Untouchable songs are beaut.

BP - The Gathering of the Clouds keeps the same standard up imo, that moment the drums come in is perfect
|

thought this was a step down from we're here, but this album definitely has its moments. distant satellites sucks though, and i'm a big fan of this band

Distant Satellites was a bit disappointing, the song Anathema is quality and I actually quite like the last two tunes, even if Take Shelter sounds almost exactly like Sigur Ros

Haven't given that one enough spins yet but I feel it could end up in the 3.5-4 range. It isn't a bad album. This one and WHBWH I absolutely love!
