so i was reading chan's review earlier and for some reason was compelled to give this a listen, seeing as i have yet to hear a really awful album this year. i was basically expecting a really entertaining disaster of an album.

man, what a disappointment. this was just really annoying. there were a couple of instrumental parts that i thought were nice, but holy fuck do i hate Bemis... i mean, he was annoying on Real Boy, but jesus christ he just let loose on this one. he completely ruined any moments on here that i might've enjoyed if not for his vocals/lyrics.

final verdict: slightly worse than Real Boy.

This album is not that bad. Nobody is giving it a chance. While I agree Anarchy, My Dear may be the worst song Max Bemis has ever written, The Stephen Hawking makes up for it alone. It's certainly no ...Is A Real Boy or In Defense, but it has more quality songs than Say Anything, and a better sound. I see it as a definite step in the right direction.

"Burn a Miracle" is still amazing. Probably that and "The Stephen Hawking" are worth listening to and then the rest is just shit.

I was a little upset, but they have good albums from the past so I just listen to those and smile!
