This is a long album, a lot to digest, but I dig it. Hand. Cannot. Erase is still my favorite atm

It'll take quite some time until Raider II is digested. It's a weird monster

Pretty hard to digest as an album as well. This will take many listens I guess and I don't think it will be my favorite Wilson record, but it's damn good

Raven then this, both essential.

Some great moments for sure.
Growing a bit tired of SW though. Idk if I'm alone in feeling this but it's like truly great artists pull their best work out of the ether with some sort of pure inspiration that really resonates genuinely. With SW, as good as the music is, I always feel there's an intellectual dissection going on, and the end result always feels that little bit contrived once fully processed over a couple of years of listening.
Then you go see him live and there stands a 50 year old man still needing to declare himself a musical genius and put other music down in between songs. The whole thing is just getting a bit old, but I might just have listened a bit too much to his music over the last 15 or so years.

while I really like this album and think it has some of his best material, I doubt I've listened to it in one sitting more than 5 times.

My issue, ya.
I can listen to a 2 hour-ish album, but there has to be a building conclusive point or unifying concept, and I'm not hearing that here. It sounds fine but to me its like a random collection of SW songs with little purpose.

Some of the spookiness of Insurgentes + an earthy, jazzy feeling
Remains a great November album
