All of this will probably get deleted by the mods tomorrow but while we're on the subject I've always found this article to be pretty good. It's not perfect but I think it does a good job of putting things in perspective from both sides.

Jesus was a pretty cool guy, he died for our sins and doesn't afraid of anything.

eurgh. it's amazing how small "christian undertones" have to be to start a religious flame war

If you don't like it you probably shouldn't have it rated as "good."

Really? What in the hell does anyone really see in this? It's so blah and uninspired and just boring.

Honestly, I have a hard time seeing someone who doesn't already really like Thrice getting into this. That's weird to say, but I don't blame people for just hearing run-of-the-mill rock with Major/Minor (that sounds like jawbox lol). It's sort of a "for the fans" album, or at least that's what it can feel like. I love Thrice. I'd even say that I "get" them, and within all my appreciation and love for their past work I find this album to be contextually perfect and immensely satisfying. If I didn't have that Thrice fanboy grounding I can't be too sure I would be as in love with this album as I am.

I agree, this really isn't a good introduction to the band. It does give off a slightly generic radio/stadium rock vibe that could be off-putting for first time listeners.

I find their later-period stuff, especially this, so much better than the Illusion of Safety-era albums.

Words in the Water is the best song on the album. It's actually one of my favorite songs right now.

And for the record, this is the first Thrice album I've listened to and I absolutely love it.

Just got back from seeing them tonight. Incredible, as always. Ending the set with To Awake and Avenge the Dead = Pure EPICNESS.
