Ugh, usually don't really bother listening to them further/remembering them when their vocals REALLY annoy me. But I'm having that problem sometimes with Tallest Man On Earth. It's weird, I kinda like them and they annoy me at the same time.

I agree completely with Fish, this is a superbly constructed album. Instrumentals are tight, songwriting is varied and thorough, and even the lyrics are good. The vocals are not whiny at all, they lack that annoying whiny twang that usually makes people think 'whiny', and there's plenty of mid-range in Lacey's voice. Whiny singers have mostly a more sibilant high-pitch lacking body, from what I've heard of whiny singers (and I tried a lot of emo and post-hardcore in my younger years). And both of you love whiny Converge lyrics - in comparison this is the very lack of whine.
For my part I can't get sick of this album. For both the above reasons and because of intense nostalgia on my part. I recall listening to this song all summer every summer of my last few years in New Jersey, through all the numbness and the disillusionment of being a teenager in America, and I can't help but 5 this.

Wait.. what? I don't even like Converge that much and the fuck do I care about their lyrics. (also HOW in the name of any northern God with a beard do lyrics connect with the pitch of your voice/what you're singing?!)

To whine: 1) to give or make a long, high-pitched complaining cry or sound
2) to complain in a feeble or petulant way
Since you-all were unspecific about what about this album you considered whiny I addressed both of the above-mentioned definitions. Oh, in the name of Odin.

Uhm, dude. Read back, I never used the term "whiny". Just because me and Omaha agree I don't have the same arguments as he does. I simply said I don't like high pitched voices or singing in high pitched voices in general so yeah.

Yeah never said I didn't like their lyrics. In fact, that's one of the only facets of Converge that I can really appreciate.
