There are no rhythms or chorus to remember on this album...if there is, please tell me. I'll check again.
The instrumentals are too long and don't produce any emotions on me (except sadness, boredom, sleepiness) .
I tried this album after reading all the good comments about it...and I didn't find what you are all hearing. I'm probably not ready for that genre.

oh man pillbox
just oh man
if you only listen to stuff with a chorus in it then this really isn't for you at all, that or you just need to listen more. this album is incredibly condensed in places
and you really need to give it patience and several listens for the emotions to really fire at you. songs don't need choruses.
anyway Ascending is one of my favourites here, to the point where I'm using it in a college project. :]

There are plenty of memorable rhythms on this album, they're just not so basic and easy to get as most of what you've rated. The lack of choruses being a problem is a fault of yours not the music. Basically, every complaint that you have is exactly due to the reason you've already mentioned... you're not ready for this genre of music and probably should have just avoided rating it to begin with.

that aside, for something to be rated 1 it has to be offensively bad. if you just don't get it, the lowest rating you should give is a 2 or a 2.5.

there are so many memorable clean parts on this album so i dont get how you are saying there arent any memorable parts and thats just the obvious clean parts, the heavy parts are very memorable too.

if you just don't get it, the lowest rating you should give is a 2 or a 2.5. Correction -- if you just don't get it or it's from a genre you're unfamiliar with (or just don't like) then you shouldn't even rate it... some might even call that troll rating... hmmmm ;)

There's nothing wrong with iTunes unless you're trying to bulk up on things to post when trying to sound elitist ;)

Oh man even though Willie adds the cute " ;) " at the end of his posts you know he means business!

Yes . I agree with you guys. I'm not ready for this genre yet. I shouldn't have rated it.

I did...you know, I thought that I could like any kind of metal music...I thought that I could see beauty through chaos. I was wrong...or maybe unprepared. I don't abandon. I'll try again later.
Thank you guys for taking the time to explain without insulting me! There are gentlemen on this site after all.

Empire, A New Aurora, and Nicholas just rape everything. And the end of Marasm is bliss. I keep wanting to bump this to a 4.5 but Glances doesn't do it for me and Traitor's March is unmemorable.

I actually really like both parts of Glances.

Traitor's March is unmemorable.
that's one of my favourite tracks here, the intro to that song coupled with the ambient song before it will never leave me

traitor's march is actually my fave
