Hell yeah dude. Those dudes are sick, the solos on that album are nuts too.

Their first two albums are quite different from that, pretty much pure MA worship with a little bit of other influence thrown in, but they do it so well it doesn't even matter. If you like MA (lol why did I say if) you should check those out, especially their second album.

Yeah, Infinity Through Purification and Subterraneal Magnitude go hard.

this thread is making me jam Subterraneal Magnitude again. Vassago is such a great intro to the album, and then Extinction Level Event just blasts your tits off.

Agreed. About to jam them too actually lol gonna go for their debut. Ancient Hatred, Treacherous Scriptures, Rack of Torment are sick tunes.

I still gotta jam Excisions of Exorcisms though, keep forgetting about that one. I know their third album was a bust but everything else rips so hopefully that one does too. The only rating for it is a 2 but that guy gave Infinity the same rating so idk, guess I'll see lol

also if anyone is in the mood for Morbid Angel but only the fast parts, Abhorrence - Evoking the Abomination.

https://youtu.be/qXs7t3fn6Xw

it's not dynamic at all, but its only 28 minutes long and it riffs hard. a nice shot of adrenaline straight into the dick.

Oh that album is sick. I swear I got that from your underrated dm list? I could be wrong, but I'm almost certain that's where it was.

it is on my underrated DM list, yeah.

fuuuuck, that solo on Failed Extraction. could almost mistake it for an Azagthoth solo.

I'm surprised those dudes haven't done a MA cover tbh. Probably be sick as fuck.

Unless they have and I'm just not aware idk. It's def not on the studio albums I have or their Chaos in Hell/Possessed by Death EP's.

maybe they don't want to make it TOO obvious what their influences are ;D

The first comment on this review echoes my sentiment

"While well written, you could cut and paste this to just about any OSDM release. This doesn't feel like its actually written about the album but more giving a general description of OSDM in general."

thereby not being a very useful review.

I play guitar. Mostly for fun, I only began to take it really seriously in the last year or two.

@Wretched I can agree with that, rev doesn't really do the album justice or lay out specifics. And the reviewer's comment that it doesn't really separate from the pack is way off imo, what other osdm record sounds exactly like this? I find this record to be fairly unique. It sounds kind of like typical Flordian dm mixed with doom and Suffocation style NYDM. Quite technical and melodic at times too.

Your initial comment about "This doesn't get old" made me think you were saying the reviewer said the album got old or something, guess I was confused/misread.

Unfortunately I have no good recording equipment, just a cell phone lol. I plan on buying some, along with a new guitar when I have more money saved up this summer. Nothing wrong with my guitars, but I want another acoustic (not the biggest fan of Fender acoustics but it's my first guitar) and I may buy another electric just for the hell of it.

And yeah my guitar goals are 100% in line with my musical taste. This type of music is what made me wanna play. I don't yet have the capability to do any collabs, but tbh I'd be interested when I get more stuff. It's just starting to get super busy at work (catering) so by the end of July or August at the latest, I'll be able to get everything I need.

Thanks dude. Bookmarked that link, I should be able to afford something like that in a couple weeks. I work in catering so it's kind of on and off slow the first half of the year, but come June it gets slammed and the money comes in lol

I'll have to check more into software. I'm aware of Audacity and stuff but I'm sure the paid programs are a lot better. Might be able to swing a toneport if I go with a free one temporarily though.

Idk, never written an album review before. I used to love writing though, just don't write as much these days. I've toyed with the idea of reviewing some albums that really need them, but I just never do it lol

Maybe I should though. Aside from albums that don't have them, there's some stuff like Failures For Gods that really need new revs lol

But what if they suck?

Idk, maybe I'll do one. Ternion Demonarchy really needs a rev bad.
