Has anyone heard the new Metallica song on the radio? I haven't heard it, but someone told me it was really bad.

Just gave this album another listen... just absolutely golden. Maybe I like it better than Ride the Lightning now.

While MOP doesn't have any filler, which Escape arguably was, it's decent tracks are just that: decent. Lepper Messiah, Damage Inc., and (to some extent) The Thing That should not be are just alright. Orion, though overly hyped up because of Burton, who is overly hyped up himself, is not as good as Call Of The Ktulu. The ballad here, Sanatarium, can't touch Fade To Black, the greatest song Metallica have recorded yet. The title track is admittedly awesome, and Disposable Heroes and Battery are as well, but those three songs can't hold up against Fight Fire With Fire, Ride The Lightning, For Whom The Bell Tolls, Trapped Under Ice, and Creeping Death. They both have incredible stand-out tracks, it's just a matter of numbers. This Message Edited On 04.10.07

Well. Battery Kills Fight Fire With Fire on all aspects. Master of Puppets is arguably one of the best songs they ever did while Ride The Lightning is just a good song. The thing that should not be sucks, while for whom is excellant so so far its 2 to 1 in favor of MoP. Sanitarium is the most killer slower song Metallica has ever done, and Fade to Black is awesome too, id give it a tie. Desposable heroes and Trapped are only meh so a tie while Escape is pathetic and Leper Messiah is phenominal. orion just straight up butchers Creeping Death on every standpoint, but Khutlu lays beatdowns on Damage Inc. So All in all the final score is

MoP:5
RtL:2

Game Ovah Son!

Except that Fade is better than Sanatarium, not by much but by enough, Creeping Death is fricking AMAZING, and we're not comparing track 1 to track 1, track 2 to track 2, and so forth. We're comparing albums. For example, you gave Battery a point over FFwF, but you also gave a point to Leper Messiah, which FFwF destroys. Creeping Death is also better than every song on MoP except for the title track and maybe Battery. Orion is overrated. Now, we can argue about this forever, or just admit that they're both great fricking albums. MoP is definitely more popular and respected, but I prefer Ride..

This album is OK. I don't think its the best metal album ever though.

Is it true HIM are supporting them at Wembley?

I really don't know which album I like better. I rated them both 5s. Ride the Lightning was the first "heavy metal" album I've ever purchased and I still listen to it religiously. MOP is instrumentally better and more mature, but some of the longer songs can lose my interest slightly while RTL is shorter and just as intense. I cant decide :-(
