well i take that back it's probably not just reviews that make you a staff and all

@six, is it because you don't like the genre's i review? :3
and about the kingsoby thing, it really is quality over quantity. i mean yeah i've written 75 reviews but some of my earlier ones suck and i'm still looking for ways to improve.

soby rules, but I question his hippity hop taste sometimes.
which is silly for me to say, because he probs listens to 10x as much hippity hop as I do, and much much more frequently.

I can't agree, at least not all the time. I'm pretty sure they want writers that cover material others don't tend to cover, but especially new/modern stuff, but they also want to make sure that they are consistent writers. They don't want to promote someone who ends up not writing very much anymore. Quality, it seems, speeds up the process.

Why is this thread being bumped?
|
| |
where else would you hold an irrelevant discussion than a patd thread
|
| |
okay let me rephrase that lol....quantity is obviously important too, but what good is submitting a review every day if it seems rushed and is full of glaring errors? so i guess they're equally important.

i honestly think quality > quantity, and part of it is the name, no way trebor and especially romulus (srsly how many reviews has he written this year) get promoted if they weren't buddy buddy with staff

any conversation or discussion on the internet is irrelevant tbh but at least this kinda is
interesting and cool

Okay guys, so this album rules. It's like fall out boy and green day and blink-182, but with actual talent and interesting styles. In fact, they take the experimentation to ridiculous levels like the the circus-y bridge to the 3rd track and the sweet cabaret feel to the 2nd last track.
The problem is that there is a lot of bad songs in here, extremely grating to listen to. I'm mostly referring to the first half of the album, excluding 2nd, 3rd tracks, and Time to Dance, which all rule. The synths are so grating and annoying. The lead singer also has a tendency to not know when to fucking stop singing with his hilariously whiny voice.
Some songs are simply boring or not dynamic enough to match the rest of the album. Lying is a prime example. It has a very nice reserved anger about it in the first verse and the preface to the 2nd chorus is wild and awesome, but the rest of the song is pretty damn boring. The first song in the 2nd half of the song is similar, in that the first verse is pretty darn good, but the rest kinda sucks except this song has a fun bridge in it.
The last 4 songs on the album are pretty much what makes it worth listening to in the end. Panic! pulls of the silly circus/cabaret influenced pop rock/punk sound much better than they do with the synth based ones.
