I think this is the only album so far that I have rated as classic and it definitely deserves that status. This and The Crimson II are the only 40+ songs that I can actually sit and listen to all the way through. The concept for the song is just beyond brilliant. I'm thinking that the founder of this band is a lyrical genius.

This band, in my opinion, definitely does not get the credit it deserves. I mean, yeah, Swano is pretty much my all time idol, but I think it must be said that Edge of sanity really would not have been as good without the others as well. Remember: IT WAS NOT JUST DAN THAT WROTE THIS! EVERY MEMBER WROTE THEIR OWN INDIVIDUAL PIECES OF MUSIC!
And on top of that, would purgatory afterglow have been as great without Sami Nerberg and Andres "Dread" Axelssons amazing and infectious guitar work? Would this album have been as great without Benny Larssons amazing drumming or Anders Lindberg's catchy as hell Bass Work?
No offense to the Swano die hards (As I am indeed one myself!) But everyone seems determined to make this band Edge of Danity, not Edge Of Sanity which it should be...

I know...Dan Swano...But really, would it have been as great without the others? Think of their songwriting as well, it werent just Dan that wrote their track Enigma you know, Sami Nerberg and Andreas Axellson did as well. And think of the track Velvet Dreams on Purgatory afterglow, is that one of the best tracks on the album or what? (in my opinion yes) And that was written entirely by Andreas...
Yes I'm a Swano die hard and I love just about every album he's put out and he is also my all time idol most likely, but I really think people need to give the other members their credit as well...
