Anesthetize is very inspired by The Cure's Closedown. The whole drum thing is almost identical. Nice!

This and Deadwing are great winter albums.

Idk, I always considered this the winter album and Deadwing a summer album. But maybe that's just because of the nostalgic summer memories I have of it, I suppose

It's the opener on Deadwing that sets the cold tone of the rest of the album for me.

This is for those late summer nights where you realize no one cares enough about you to try to make plans with you to hang out so you lie in bed blasting this and feeling sorry for yourself and saying "maybe I need new friends" but then once the albums ends you think "maybe they are actually busy and can't hang out..." but then you go on instagram and see they've been posting pictures with other people and the other people in said photos have been posting similar pictures so they can't have just been lying on their phone so you confront them about it and they just say "next time I have time we'll hang out" and you feel slightly better for a little bit but then the summer goes by and more photos have been posted with no message to you so just blast this one last time before school starts and repeat the cycle next year.

It's a cold record. Not a warm spot on it.

Not in a cuddly way no. But in a suffocating, exhilarating way. Like when it gets so hot that it starts to feel comfortable.

Think of being in total darkness with that blue light of the cover hypnotizing and controlling your mind like an alien.

This record is deep mane

In fact, it is a cold record, but not a winter record.

Works better with snow falling for me. It's probably related to the fact that I first heard the record in December/January.
