Listening to this for the 5th time and I'm sort of baffled. If I hadn't known that apparently this is a metal record, I would assume that I'm listening to screamo/posthardcore with some postrock influence or something.
Then again, I really suck at recognizing music (sub)genres.
I'm glad that I gave this a chance even though I don't listen to metal usually.

I don't get why people call this screamo when it has 0 punk instrumentation tho. Basically every riff involves tremolo picking and very little else.

cause the melodies sound like screamo sometimes, they use octave riffs every now and then too in a way that is definitely screamo influenced
