I'll never forget the time I first heard this album. I was playing a video game with my older brother (I think it was Terraria), and we briefly went on Sputnik and saw the insane average this album had - this was when it used to have a 4.4/5. So I found it on Spotify, put it on the speakers, and our jaws were on the floor for a solid 15 minutes or so when we heard this. Everything about this was so fucking mindblowing, not just on a technical level but also in terms of emotion and songcraft. I don't think we've ever had the same experience with another metal album before... it felt like being a child again and opening a bunch of presents on Christmas day. You just can't replicate certain moments

My mind was completely blown as well, I think what sticks with me is exactly what you alluded to, the ‘emotion & songcraft’ aspect. I’ve mentioned it before but whilst the technical side of things is impressive, the fact the songs themselves are so engaging & cohesive is nothing short of astounding.
I’ve never heard an album more befitting of the word ‘epic’ & in the best possible way.
