I just don't get it.Corey and Matt are excellent guitar players. The bassist is talented. The drummer is tremendously advanced,Yet this comes out. :stump'd:

I'm not entirely certain of the bassist as he only audible once in a blue moon, but it goes to show that technical proficiency doesn't mean you can write.

Matt Heafy would be awesome if he never sung and played guitar in a different band where he wasn't allowed to make any creative contributions.

Hilarious! lmfao. Even though I like Trivium, this was quite funny!

I'm not going to deny his skills as a guitar player, but he can't write songs to save his life. He'd be great as a session player or something.

Matt Heafy would be a terrible session guitarist.

You guys are talking about Heafy never being able to work in other bands, but I didn't mind him at all with Capharnaum. And he wasn't the original choice for a vocalist in Trivium, just FYI.

I dont know, I dislike Trivium. It's just what I read; Heafy failed the audition, then the original singer quit, and he was asked to join.

His work with Capharnaum is tolerable, but he doesn't play guitar for them so maybe that's why.

Wait, that's kind of backwards from what I read. I read that Trivium already had a vocalist, but Heafy auditioned and the band wanted him as their permanent vocalist, thus forcing the last guy to quit.

Either way, he wasnt their original vocalist.

Obviously im a little out gunned. But i thought the album was at least somewhat refreshing. Granted, the metallica comparison is obviously invited. However who was metallica imitating? Or any other band for that matter. Its natural in my eyes. Also, metallicas "Classic sound" was out of use far before its time. I think these guys did a pretty good job with the song writing, and they seem to be very accomplished players. This is the ONLY work ive heard from them, so my opninion is based souly on it.
