real talk number 1 (the true goat self titled 5th album of the decade) is erra but different world entirely. def the most complete feeling and fully realized record that consistently set out what it intended to do thus far, and both sums up their career up to that point and pushes them into new territory for them. nothing more i could want
but yea ec has both the best lyrics ive heard this decade and the coolest arrangements + joe's prob the best vocalist in the sound nowadays
not sure this places top 10 but boy did i want it to lmao

It's been an awesome half of a decade.
I am still adjusting my feelings to this, but I think it would probably make a shortlist. Here Comes the Devil and Empty Country II would definitely be there though. Everything Joe does just works for me. It's like Springsteen for the modern age

I was a little surprised that another album was already so far along considering how long the wait between Loss then Pretty years the EC1 and EC2 were, but I'm not complaining. Not surprised to hear the demos rule, the skeletons of his songs work so well. I am obsessed with some of the Quarantine versions of EC1. That Southern Cloud video lives rent free in my head
