Oh I fully trust her creative instincts for who to pick to complement her songwriting, this is especially the case for me on She Reaches Out and Hiss Spun.

I'm liking this, but not loving it yet. Darkwave, industrial & trip hop are definitely more on the periphery of my musical tastes, but they are all genres that greatly intrigue me. This has the feeling of one of those albums that could click, given the time.

Yeah, I’m ready to admit that this is not even a top 3 Chelsea album for me. It’s still great, but outside of BoV, I super prefer her stuff with drums and guitar. The more “full band” type stuff just suites her so well, whereas this borderline dark wave stuff just doesn’t feel as fresh or unique.

She’s really out here playing The Waves Have Come as an encore.

How many people are really trying to pull off darkwave though? And of the few, who’s executing it to this level?

The only semi-current darkwave artists I can think of are Drab Majesty and Boy Harsher, but neither have dropped a record in years nor have any been as good as this. I love what she’s doing with her discog. Just fully exploring every form of goth.

Yeah, the darkwave scene is not at its peak right now, especially since Luis Vasquez’s passing earlier this year, putting an end to The Soft Moon’s excellent run of albums. Dead Astronauts, She Past Away, Super Besse, Soft Kill come to mind, but some of their recent outings were also on the meh-side. And Clan of Xymox is still around, they’re still decent.

ngl I was kinda gutted to learn that the title is only meant to be read 3 times and not in an infinite loop

I’m just now learning it from you and I’m gonna choose to ignore it tbh, I like the idea of it being infinite

it's apparently meant to reference past-she, present-she and future-she, so ig there's still plenty to read into it

but i want that infinite character count :[

Yeah the album art makes it seem like an infinite thing so that was always my impression.

One just doesn’t discuss Chelsea Wolfe and politics within the family.
