This could indeed be inside the Top 5 djent albums of all time.

I'm not, but I've also felt like they've had an upward trajectory their whole career.

This is like Periphery’s Hail Stan. You’re just like whoa who knew they could do something this good 😂

yeah kinda, with the asterisk that the two bands fall on the opposite sides of the "how seriously these bands take themselves" scale lol

1000% agreed. Not apples to apples by any stretch, just what I think of in the realm of “djent” surprises

"Yep genuinely sounds like Dudes Making Random Djent Sounds With Excellent Vocals: The Album, to me. If this was my intro to the band/genre I'd probably go hard as fuck on it though."

Reading that and then seeing the beginnings of self-doubt 2 pages later was a trip. Sometimes we need 4 months to let an album cook lol

Gave it a full listen yesterday for the first time in a few months and The Grey got me good. I still feel like I did on release, though, that Burden is gonna creep up on a lot of people's favorites list. It's fucking beautiful, almost like the greatest parts of Polaris and Sonder combined.

I could see how the second half of this not having an IMMEDIATE ripper might throw people off a bit. Maybe if The Grey or Legion were back there it wouldn't feel like that.

I'm a Tesseract-addict, though, and still fucking adore this thing front to back.

The back half has so much emotion though. I don't want bangers front to back if they sacrifice the story. Sirens, Burden, and Sacrifice are perfection.

Same. I mistakenly thought they had maintained a softened approach since Polaris. Had moved away from them after loving Altered State so much.

This is one of my favorite albums of the last 10 years or so. Literally banger after banger until it’s over. Hard 5.

This is their best album for me overall. If they had better production for their first album that one might be the best.
