Without trying to sound like I'm trying to "morally correct", several of the songs on this albums VERY misogynistic tones kind of bring this album down for me. I mean I can understand how a particularly bad relationship can lead to such feelings but good Christ do they push it. Still a great record though

i don't think i agree. maybe i'm wrong, but hating an individual person who wronged you isn't exactly misogyny. saying you'll kill your daughter for being a woman's misogynistic for sure, but the rest of it? i don't buy it

"but hating an individual person who wronged you isn't exactly misogyny. saying you'll kill your daughter for being a woman's misogynistic for sure, but the rest of it? i don't buy it"
well, theres a difference between words/lyrics themselves being misogynistic and a person being misognyistic
as in, none of us can know whether Daryl really did hate woman throughout this album
you could argue the lyrics are representative of his feelings towards one specific person
but arguably the fact he reacted to a bad break up with such vitriol and hate maybe is indicitive of his deep seated feelings towards women in general
and maybe im just one guy on a music forum who is making this up as he goes along
maybe

That could be a possibility.

I mean, I'm pretty sure this entire album was directed at one person, and if so I would hate to be that person

def a possibility, maybe he did hate women deep down and the breakup just exposed it. i do thinks its a stretch though to write this off as a misogynistic album. given all the known circumstances, you can't really blame him for being so upset tho
but who knows

To be fair, when I went through a rough breakup during college, this album was extremely cathartic. This album got me through the anger stage. W&T got me through the depression and acceptance stages.

THEM'S FIGHTIN' WORDS, GYRO.
I dunno, it's hard to compare the two.
This album is a lot more up front and in your face, I'd say. I prefer W&T, but it's really up to personal opinion.

well if you dont like daryls vocals you may not like this
although, i remember you saying you like the more aggressive tracks on worship so you may like this and its heavier and more aggressive and daryl sings a lot less and screams a lot more
