this and Pornography are their best but I'd also throw The Head on the Door in as a recommendation. it's a strong, enjoyable record that works as a great introduction to the band, especially if you want to start on something that isn't so dark and depressing.

it really depends on what you're looking for, though. The Cure have such a large, diverse catalog that's pretty consistently awesome through the early 90s, there's something in there for practically everyone.
