Too bad she didn't write it 20 years ago so it could have run during the credits for Coyote Ugly.

Says he's in love with my body, that's why he's fucking it up
And then he says to me
"Baby, if it feels good, then it can't be bad"
*goosebumps*

Really curious to see what's she gonna do next.
I'm feeling like a shorter lighter album with more "uptempo" songs in the vein of American Teenager would be really nice.

I’m gonna sound like a broken record but check the EPs, especially the first half of Inbred. She is also planning to release a “B-sides” EP (5-6 songs) at some point this year, though one of the songs she’s said is going to be on it (“Dust Bowl”) is one of her dreariest. That said I could see there being a couple more upbeat tracks on there especially if there are ones she may have cut from this.
As for future LPs, regarding the other two albums in the trilogy she said the following in her AMA recently:
”each album will have its own unique sonic soundscape, but they’ll all still be very dreamy and ethereal/slowcore at the heart cause that’s just me being me lol”

My first experience with Ethel Cain was the video for Crush on YouTube, where the most liked chat comment is, "This crackhead makes beautiful music."
That she does.
I have mixed feelings about the album though. It is beautiful - all the way through. But listened to all at once some of the tracks struggle to engage for the whole of their lengthy run times. Whole sections of the album seem to lack for compelling songwriting. It's lifted by the lyrics, which are consistently excellent, and some flushes of creativity here and there, but it's just lacking some dynamism.
It works great in the background, and I find I can drift in and out and really appreciate the beauty more that way, but I'm struggling to maintain attention for the whole 70 minutes.
Still a very good album though; maybe with another month I will feel more like so many of you do.

Yeah I’m almost the opposite - the songwriting and depth of atmosphere here are so compelling that I find it hard to focus on anything else while this is on.
