Both bands are class and fantastic. I prefer these guys to Isis but thats just because i connected to them more.

CoL over Isis easy for me but Isis are the daddies of the genre and absolutely rule

Finally got around to spinning this.

Most consistent band ever. This rules. I even thought the clean vocal parts near the midway point were cool and interesting - strangely reminded me of the newer Opeth or some Steven Wilson stuff.

Very good record. I could criticize them for having some same-y sounding stuff over the years, but it is so grandiose and enveloping I can't help but get swept up in/by it. Ugh. Big ups to the Cult.

Full Moon - Long Road - Blood Upon Stone is literally perfection.....my favorite segment of the record and a little surprising because the opener exists....

Saw them play yesterday and I was honestly a bit disappointed in the mix. I had trouble properly hearing the guitars, which I really didn‘t expect to happen with this band.

In Awe of sounded huge though, despite the issue.

That's a real shame, they were to this day the best metal show I've been to

Hmm, yeah that’s disappointing. Unfortunate.

They were fantastic when I saw them on their Dawn tour.

I reckon my hearing protection made the problem worse, making bass and drums more prominent (two drum kits are fucking insane btw, I love it).

The show was so loud though, I didn‘t want to risk going in without anything for my ears. Most metal shows are like that unfortunately, but I guess I‘m in the minority on that topic.

Nah doom, I certainly agree that you definitely need ear protection. It was crazy loud when I saw CoL. Really small venue too, so you couldn't really stand 'further back' to compensate

I saw Oxbow recently and it was intensely loud (albeit just about comfortable) even with ear-plugs, I can't even imagine what it'd have been like without them. So this is probably just par for the course now

This hasn’t lost an ounce of steam. I definitely prefer newer CoL over the older stuff. For me, a record like SATH can’t compete with their present sound. This and ADTF lead the way with ease.

Agree titan but personally think SATH is the only old record of theirs that can compete with the newer stuff. Took me forever to really get into it but that one along with ADTF kinda wipe the floor over everything else
