"Montanarini is a cool name, what does it mean?"
First time I see this surname but I imagine it's a variation from Montanari which means "of/from the mountains". Not the worst fit for sadboi metal tbh

A case could definitely be made for Darker Thoughts. It's an amazing song.

Been on an Obsidian kick yesterday, made the trains and buses go quicker. m/
Can't really share the overwhelming love for the opener tbh but who cares, the album slaps. My top 3 right now could be something like (no precise order) Fall From Grace, Hear the Night and The Devil Embraced. But oh man Ghosts, Ravenghast too. The delicious gothness of Hope Dies Young. The middle instrumental part of Ending Days. Did I mention this slaps?

I’m struggling to find a better opener in the last quarter of a century.
Stick the headphones on and be staggered.
Fucking amazing album.

I agree that As Horizons End is a better opener, but Darker Thoughts is a better song than any of those you've listed Dreamflight
Also, nothing can poop all over FDDU since it's a fantastic album, but this one's better for sure

if the sound was not so abhorrent (sounds like Igorrr or Combichrist), this could actually be a 4. I really don't know that many of their post-Draconian-albums, but from what I am familiar with, I agree that this might be their best since then.

Think this is the best PL have sounded production and mix wise since the turn of the century. most of their later era metal stuff sounds too dense, love the separation you can actually hear here
PS sad to see Valtteri go, but it was inevitable like with all of their drummers. but this kod was special, perfect drummer for them
