Agreed they all seem like really cool dudes. Bassist also has the most macho moustache I’ve ever seen lol

I love how the video ends with the drummer saying “i’m proud of where the band’s going”

I've always been a huge Daughters and As the Sun Sets fan so naturally I like this quite a bit, but still shocked to see the immediate 5's by so many

It's only difficult to understand based on the personal experience one has with this. No one responds to any music precisely the same. Predisposition and art are bedfellows.
Whether a '5' or not, this is a powerful comeback, a charismatic and distinguished performance with a distinct aesthetic; this record is inimitable.

I honestly think if they follow up this album in a couple of years or whenever, they can probably do this style better.

Thank You, Ashtiel. I felt drawn to learn of Alexis last night, and found a candid Youtube video of a skype call interview.

Yeah, the last two have gotta be the best two. The second half in general is a lot better than the first, unfortunately.

Would be perfect if not for all of the whiney, high pitched guitar parts when they decide to get more cacophonous/intense. Just wish they were more inclined to play lower on the neck of guitar, it's a simple but powerful difference. Only complaint. The mood and intention in all the songs are pretty fucking impressive. Idk what you're talking about, deathschool, I was definitely arrested by the coldness and antisociability of the very first track. Hadn't really heard anything like that before even after all the experimental/noise/power electronics I've consumed over the past few years. Strong and unique album the whole way through. May even review it, despite it having been praised enough as is.

Oh damn. Disagree hard. Those chaotic high ends are what I love. I want more tbh

Fair enough! I get it. I just like mid range-y and slightly lower parts more I think. Wouldn't surprise me if all this album could be played in E standard and that's a flaw for me, for some reason. lol

The super high-pitched chords are kind of a staple of the band at this point, even as much as they’ve evolved they’re basically what makes the band sound like Daughters, along with the weird vox but even those didn’t come around until Hell Songs

"thought you fail me was best of the genre but don't know anymore"
I wouldn't consider them the same genre. Both albums rule hard as fuck though.
