This has the shelf life of a lettuce leaf sitting under an industrial heat lamp.
With a magnifying glass positioned in between.
She's wilting already.

Couldn't disagree more Doof, I think this has longer legs then a lot of records I've listened too lately, if anything I'm coming back to this more than I expected.

It's a pop album without an actual honest to God year-defining hit on it. Song writing is painfully middle of the road and it's experimental credentials are threadbare.
She could yet prove an artist for the ages but if so this will go down as an early formative step but nowhere close to a classic. It hasn't the songs to back up the hyperbole. People are already dismissing the debut a bit, same will happen with this if she moves on.

Homemade Dynamite, The Louvre, Supercut, this has plenty of bangers and a lot more relevance than a lot of her contemporaries, especially Katy Perry who's new album is a complete dud. And a lot of the tracks on here have heart, Liability is probably one of the most honest and open pop songs I've heard in ages and covers new territory on a topic that really doesn't get much attention. If anything I think this will age very well, and I'm usually pretty critical on mainstream pop artists/albums.

People enjoying this is great...people reading into the album like it's high art from a female version of a young Elton John or whatever? No. Half the songs here sound a bit like 'Sorry' by Bieber with a bit of Little Mix in there. Seriously.
Also no song here is even as good as 'Sorry' by Bieber. Sorry.

Liability dude is a fantastic song and destroys Sorry. The who song is literally her coming to grips with success and how it ends up working against her, how it pushes a majority of people away from even wanting any sort of relationship with her and coming to grips with that. That has more honesty and integrity then any Bieber tune and is hardly a run of the mill cookie cutter track in terms of substance.

yeh above all else the honesty is what attracts me to her music

I thought I'd seen everything, but Doof like a bieber track more than this 🤔

The Bieber song is catchier and more original - this album cribs a lot from that production style.
I don't like 'Liability' at all - give me a hundred Lisa Germano ballads over that one every day. Badly written, heavily telegraphed, heavy handed, old hat tune for me.

I don't actually like that Bieber song particularly either, but it made an impression.
This album doesn't even make an impression on me.

Maybe you're too old/out of touch with this record's intended audience. Just a thought.

Lucid, like I said I was happy just saying 'not for me' - but the level of hype, the 'next Kate Bush' comparisons, the 'serious art' reviews...had to give it a go.
But yeah, it's just a pop album with 2017 trimmings. Not offensive, just boring to me.
