great record but I feel it won't place that high on year-end lists. for many people it's a couple of listens and stash away, you just can't return to this for "enjoyability"

I just heard this album for the first time.

I love one county away from Phil. The forest fire he talks about, I remember that affecting my family too. Genevieve was in a hospital in Everett, and I go to Everett twice a week, every week.

I am hurt.

i will laugh at anyone who plays anything but ACLAM and says "this is the saddest music ever." get on my level of suicidal ideation, bitch.

The part about the counselor's work being finished...

I will admit, though, one part made me smirk. When he said he had the power to clear our a grocery store aisle, and make everyone pitiful and confused.

it is morbidly amusing, but sad as fuck at the same time.

Just realized the reference to The Moon on Soria Moria

That gives the song a whole new layer of meaning

This is one of the most depressing albums I've ever heard, but that's what makes it so amazing ugh.

I know dude, easily the most sobering, real album I've ever heard. I try to listen to it sparingly, as to not let it lose any of its meaning or impact.

Great art should challenge your thoughts/emotions and make you feel uncomfortable. This record did that for me.

TBH this album made me go back and really, attentively listen to Phil's discography for the first time. I'm so glad that I did. Hearing the different phases through his life that lead up to this gives the album so much context and meaning.
