i tried (albeit very rudimentary pieces back in HS).

i don't have a problem with superb technicality if it has a purpose. that being said, i haven't heard this and i've been interested since it's been trending and dope users like marskid have endorsed it.

The point is these composers were always pushing the boundaries of technicality in music, which is not an inherent negative and neither is that so in metal.

Sure, criticise a tech death album for being fragmented or unfocused, criticise it for being sterile or overproduced (both apply here), but criticising it for being technical and in doing so, conflating technicality with wank, is retarded.
