“Everybody calls us the godfathers of nu-metal and I’m fucking tired of that. We don’t want to join the nostalgia circuit. Us, Limp Bizkit, Staind or some shit like that. Fuck that.”
Well, this new album...

Yeah that recession comment is pretty fucking stupid. Sounds a bit like compassion fatigue but still a dumb thing to say. I think Jonathan was pretty nervous about how the album would be recieved around that time no matter how much he said he didn't give a fuck.

Another disappointing album from those guys. While it's not objectively bad, it's so damn safe that it makes me sad Missing those crazy Issues days...

I'll admit I've never been a fan of Korn, but this album does seem to have some of the best material since "Untouchables". Granted, it's not good enough to sway my opinion of the band overall, but the musicianship here is generally very solid and accessible. It's more straightforward and never really attempts to polarize its core fanbase with weird genre-mashing phases. Instead, there's a lot of bouncy riff work and at times depraved atmospherics to enjoy.

L.D. 50 still reigns supreme there. And some people count SCIENCE as nu-metal (I don't) but if that counts, then that's a contender as well.
