this has actually grown on me. Its amazing the way this band is able to seemlessly mash together completely different sounds into one song.

I don't really see why the lyrics are really taken into much account at all with albums like these.

Personally, for most post-hardcore albums in this vein, I couldn't care less what they want to talk about as long as the delivery is good

i think what annoys me about this band the most now is the fact that before they were a good band with little quirky things about them. but now they overdue the quirkiness and it's kinda become a bit of self parody at points

Completely agree. I still love this band, but after this album, I'm starting to question how much longer I'm gonna tolerate the "hey, look guys, Jon's being wacky again" stuff. As I said, I at least thought that Jon was trying to convey an idea on the older albums. It's just inane drivel to the point of self-parody at this point.

I guess I'm just here for the riffs and he can talk about riding rhinos and dildo piles all he wants as long he keeps up the sick skramz

That's what I hate about this. Just craziness for the sake of it. Not to mention that the music itself is annoying

I obviously like it more than you, but I agree. There's no reason for it to be this zany. There just doing it because that's what the Tilian era fans want. I don't mind crazy/wacky stuff in music, but I'd like if it had a point.

I am not quite hearing what's whacky in this, both vocally and musically. Seems like it's all traditional DGD.

I don't know man, just seems like we've been getting a diet version of DGD since Tilian joined. It doesn't seem to be as genuine as it was with Jonny/Kurt. It feels like they're just placating to fans instead of experimenting and progressing like they had until the last couple albums.
