this band doesnt feel like its rebellious, it feels like its a special little "clique" that fights against the mainstream with music that challenges conventions and has lyrics that are "real" and aren't the mainstream while being on the nose ironic because it IS mainstream. And all of its fans are special little clique members who are all close and family because they're a (profitable market) tight knit community who know how it feels to "struggle" and "pain". Its the corporate manifestation of mid 2000s pop rock without the fun or unapologetic over the top rock operas to back it up.

Like this shit is so asinine because you have a song like Fairly Local where Tyler is spitting about how his music will never be on the radio even if all his fans wrote into a station because they're just so close and obscure even though they're on a label with Nate Reuss and Panic At the Disco and have songs that averaged 20 million views even before actually blowing up on the Billboard later this year.

Also bands like these are fucking nostalgia hogs and dammit I hate when shit is 100% fixated on the past.

Like it's nice to reminisce when some good shit comes on, or you think about good memories you've had.

But literally wishing that you could go back to a time where you never had your independence, you couldn't make decisions, and you didn't begin to grasp an understanding of how the world works, is... to be frank pretty shitty.

Like I always say on every page in this thread, their debut and Vessels are really good albums where their songwriting is strong and their lyricism is actually believable and heart-felt here and there. This album is just a massive sell out downgrade masquerading as something far more obscene.

Vessels was just average, some good parts but pretty mediocre through and through.

This was dogshit.

I had a co-worker who has two autistic kids and all he can ever do is scream at them if they ever act "out of line". Hell, the piece of shit was audibly yelling at them while he was at work trying to sort out his paycheck that was bled dry by child support because he claimed we stole the money from him. He just converted into our church and im not convinced he doesn't have some ulterior motive joining our particular church considering its aid system.
