I don’t think it’s necessarily awful per se — but the lyrics are silky, it’s repetitive, boring and just drones along. WTF?? Where is some GOOD new MM music? These singles they’ve released in the past year or two are so lackluster.

And that’s coming from someone who actually likes this album.

I actually love Poison the Well, but the other two are, er... not quite up to snuff.

Well, let’s hope for the best with the next album — if and when it comes.

I'm your resident guy who thinks We Were Dead is some of their best work and defends songs off Good News and this as some of their best ever, so I don't think I'm notably mean on their new stuff. that particular song is just fucking garbage.

Ehh, their early stuff set a pretty high standard, perhaps it's unfair to compare everything they put out to LCW or TM&A but I get why people do it

New song is a flop, new album (if there is one) is gonna suck hard and fast.

"Good News is actually their best though"

It's sad that I know you think this is true.

When it very clearly isn't.

Definitely not best but I put it 4th and it's a 3.5-4.0 at least. Didn't know there was a new song, will have to check

Ice Cream Party is certainly better than I'm Still Here or Poison, but that isn't saying much. I'd be surprised if the new album is better than this or We Were Dead.

I liked poison the well when it was released, but every time I've listened to it since, I've liked it less.

Album (if there is one) is gonna be a clunker, for sure.

Listened to Ice Cream Party two more times and it grew on me some. The lyrics are still nonsensical and stupid as hell and it goes on too long without really building, but it’s got a pretty cool groove and a nice, eerie atmosphere to it.
