I'm surprised at the lack of features on this thing, but damn Rapsody rules on here.

I really wanted an Andre 3000 feature, and a Jay Rock feature.

Jay Rock would have been great.

"gotta be real tho i don't really get the "if you want shit to change wash your ass" line

i mean, it is a coherent sentence that makes sense to me in a literal sense. but the point went over my head. unless there is no point"

very good kid maad city vibes from this line--the wisdom of the line/"point" is not (only) what it 'says' but just the fact of its being delivered in the parlance of his grandmother, as heard by kid kendrick. lamar is clearly very into this kind of thing

I just took it as you have to wash away your past if you want to create something different for your future, but put in a ridiculous context so as to be memorable. And it does sound like weird advice that your grandmother may give you as a child.

I really enjoyed the lack of features, and names like Bilal and Anna Wise as one of the few guests. Makes the album more personal. But damn, it's even more concept album than good kid.
