Yeah, it's a pretty uneven listen. There is brilliance in it, though.

Well, yes, he does, but Mikael and Steven together surpass themselves.

No, not really. Opeth's and Porcupine Tree's best albums are far better than Storm Corrosion.

Well, yes, but SC is the most progressive thing they've done in their careers.

Saw Steven Wilson and the band live two days ago. Still cannot believ the magnitude of that concert. The best live show I've ever seen.

Live they're too good. Amazing musicianship, you can't go wrong with Beggs/Blundell/Gowan. I've seen them with Minnemann playing drums but Blundell is another class act, I don't know if I'd rate him below Marco.
I've seen him live with Frost* a couple of years ago and his drumming blew me away

Yes, he is a superb drummer. At first I was a bit disappointed I wouldn't see Govan/Minnemann live, but the duo Blundell/Kilminster is a killer one as well.

I felt Blundell's drumming was a bit more tame and less creative than Marco's.
I saw them on the Raven tour, and Guthrie/Marco's jazzier touch was absolutely appropriate and interesting, but I acknowledge that the Kilminster/Blundell duo was especially solid in the more contemporary melodic prog contextÂ.
I remember My Book of Regrets being the most surprising highlight of the show because of this

Fantastic album but you must give Guthrie Govan the credit for the guitar playing which is exceptional.
