"Beelzebub = Warm-up before the best Dir track ever"

Fixed.

Ahh, I see I see. It's one of those albums. I'll give it a shot at the end. I'll go from DSS to Marrow and then work back words so I hit Macabre last.

EDIT: I just listened to both of those tracks and uh how can you even choose between the two?

That's probably the best order to go in really with what you have left.

Both are perfect tracks but Dir have never sounded so...overwhelming dark and terrifying before hence why Beelzebub gets the nod for me.

"Both are perfect tracks but Dir have never sounded so...overwhelming dark and terrifying before hence why Beelzebub gets the nod for me. " That makes sense. And it's great that they've culminated such an accepting fanbase. It's awesome because I don't think they have an objectively better/worse set of albums with how much ground they've covered but it's cool to see that most people think their newest releases are generally their best releases!

EDIT: And I still think my favorite Diru songs are Glass Skin, Ware Yami Tote, Behind a Vacant Image, and Kaishun.

Unfortunately, this is not case since some fans are arseholes.

When it comes to Uroboros it's conscientiously their best release, barely seen any fan who doesn't love it. Other albums that's a whole other matter, heavily divided opinion everywhere although in the realms of Sputnik the newer releases rule the roost (which is easy to see why, with such a strong base of Metal fans here).

I'd put Ware in my top 10, masterpiece really.

Kaishun's great, it's awesome to see so many people really digging that song and Ware really is an incredible song. Probably the most evocative vocal performance I can remember.

I see. Interestingly enough, I think Arche is much less metal than everything between Macabre and DSS. I just think they did a good job with incorporating that metal influence with their earlier J-Rock/alternative rock stuff. Might just be me though!

That sucks! All the Diru fans I've encountered outside of sputnik are pretty damn accepting. Wide range of favorites, generally between Uro/DSSand Marrow surprisingly. I've even met a few people claiming Vulgar as their favorite; though I definitely do see what you mean about Uro being "conscientiously their best release". Most people I know have it in their Top 2-3 ~ rotating between that and another album (which varies greatly).

It's not just you, you are correct. They've stated Arche is more of a 'back to routes' album where it's more J-Rock-ish plus it's such a perfect evolution. They needed to tone down the heaviness since the band struggle to keep up with how intense DSS songs are live, plus they wanted to have more fun with their live shows and have easier songs to play while keeping the emotion as hard hitting as ever while keeping their more evolved sound. It's one reason why they did the Gauze Tour back in 2014, to get a taste of more of their past self for the album.

"There's one that tops it, but I'll let you find it yourself ;)" You're terrible. Now I'm intrigued and have literally five albums to go through lmao.

And ahh that makes sense. That's probably why it's my favorite. It's got such a nice alternative metal vibe to it and imo that's the best genre, it's just that tons of bands do it incorrectly or water it down for accessibility rather than experimenting with it. And yeah, he really sounds the most comfortable performing this stuff live haha. I wish I could see them live now.

It's in their lives, not their albums but you have to get through the albums anyway :P

"And yeah, he really sounds the most comfortable performing this stuff live haha."

I'd argue that he sounds the most comfortable performing pre Uroboros songs nowadays.

"I wish I could see them live now."

They'll most likely be a European/North American tour in 17/18. In the mean time early next year will be 3 Blu Rays coming out of their Mode of Kisou/DSS/Vulgar tours so we'll see how he's doing this year minus Archekan.

"Ware, Yami Tote..." is arguably his best studio performance, but there are incredibly many impressive live cuts.
