Fucking awful album art, me and my friend thought it was fan art before it was confirmed by the band.

For me it is a pretty good album and I am 30 and I am listening Slipknot since 1999.
How many of you know their oldest songs?

Corey Taylor does sound hit-and-miss here; when he utilizes those pseudo-growls (lack of a better term), I actually enjoy those. As for his singing... eh. You can tell at points that he's trying to force the emotion - and coupled with some rather unmemorable hooks, that's not really a good thing. Beyond this and the painfully uninspired, trite lyrics, I still find The Gray Chapter to be an overall solid album. It's instrumentally consistent and a fun record to spin every once in awhile. I wish it was about as mature as Vol. 3 or All Hope Is Gone and had the same atmosphere (if tweaked a little), but I'm not gonna go on a rant.
Killpop, Goodbye, and If Rain Is What You Want are easily the best songs, though The Negative One is pretty enjoyable for what the track is, too.

Goodbye's guitars are so good at the start of the song.
