I didn't get the love for "Trains" the first few times I heard it, but it's grown on me significantly. "Blackest Eyes" is my favorite, though. That's the song that made me fall in love with the band.

I will say, I miss the days when I was discovering this album and band. Wow, I can still remember the way it felt to listen to "The Sound of Muzak" while flying on a plane, and just falling in love with it.

Prodigal has beautiful Pink Floyd's atmosphere, listen at that guitar gliss in the chorus!

It's so anticlimactic though; always felt like it lacked direction

Dude quite the contrary for me. It probably has one of the most chilling yet subtle climaxes I've heard after the "Black the sky weapons fly, lay them waste of your race" part.

See, I find an atmosphere like Mellotron Scratch far more chilling and intimate, whereas everything in .3 is clearly supposed to sound pretty and huge but it's ineffective for me

That is a good song. But .3 is definitely still my favorite PT track.
