If I'm not in the perfect mood for listening to their older material, it can make them feel a bit over-saturated. TH is a good length for me to listen to at any time, never feeling like a struggle to get to the end of.

i'm sort of blown away when boc fans say stuff like this^ i feel like this album could have been made by any number of ambient artists, and they probably would have done it better. it bears similarities to their older material obviously, thus making it sound like a boc album at times, but outside of those cool little soundbites there's a lot of suspended ambiance that does nothing for me. the sound is really homogeneous, linear. i love boc for how nuanced their music is (even their really old stuff)

this sounds like something they would've made after 7 years, and that's a lot of time and life
happening in between. there's a large number of detail and 'nuances' scavenged and placed meticulously
that can be heard throughout, and I doubt that those 'number of ambient artists' would have the
attentive and experienced ears to make something close to this record. I'm not entirely defending this
record but I'm not gonna blast it either because it doesn't sound as close to Geogaddi or [insert
other BoC favorite]

yeah this album is them commenting on both their sound and their careers
it's meant to sound like a shadow of their past, that's what makes it so somber and bittersweet

Started as a 5 for me, but that was mostly fanboyish. Smooth 4.5!

The Campfire Headphase still hasn't captivated me yet like the others. I love the vivid soundscapes on the album, but some tracks don't hold my attention much at all, like Peacock Tail.

There's usually an EP released within a year of each album, hopefully one coming soon

some of u guys seriously thinking the stripped back empty sounding approach to this wasn't intentional for what they were trying to achieve
they spent 8 years on this

"There's usually an EP released within a year of each album, hopefully one coming soon"
the thought of that keeps me going through this deathly cold time of year :x

actually being able to experience a new boc release now that ive realized theyre the only meaningful artistic project of the last 15 years would be pretty tight tbh

@Kman Exactly, and it absolutely shows. The attention to detail on this thing is incredible

i found out recently that my version of this has had reach for the dead and white cyclosa flipped for months now but honestly it flows 100% better that way because gemini into white cyclosa is perfect and magical and its shocking to me that they didnt write those two songs to flow into each other
