He was prob always a douche, I guess the good ol' F&F just brought it out more.
And QR never became THAT famous, if anything, they lay in the shadow of other bands of their day. Their underdog thing is one of the things I love them for.
I mean sure, Mindcrime and Empire sold pretty well, but still, bands like GN'R, Metallica, and yet others got more fame.
