newer in flames is catchy and good. 2nd half of the album is by far the best.

I just got into these guys thru the song "Come Clarity. I downloaded most of that album and I have to say my top five from that album have to be:

1. Come Clarity

2. Dead End

3. Take This Life

4. Crawl Through Knives

5. Leeches

I completely agree...this CD kicks ass, Crawl Through Knives is incredible, the scream near the end where he like goes one step higher than he does throughout the rest of the song, and holds it longer, is so epic.

The new CD I'm not sure about yet, haven't listened to it enough, but from Subterrainean (sp?) or the one with Mikael Stanne (the name escapes me ATM) to Clayman they have released masterpieces, I like Cloud Connected but don't know RTR all that well, and I don't know STYE very well either, but yeah In Flames fuckin' rock

The start to Come Clarity (the song) sounds sooooo much like Opeth.

Then when it doesn't meander for 8 minutes you know it isn't Opeth.

It's a great song - the first I heard from the band.

I really don't like Scream or the last song that much.

Haha, I can tell.

I think this is a good sound for the band. They seem to be pretty good at the ballad-type tracks too - I'd like to see more of that on their next album.

I'd like the next album to be more raw. Sure I enjoy all the latest In Flames albums, but I'd really like to hear something rawer, something more metallic like on Reroute To Remain, only even better.

I'd be happy if they stay with a sound like this - just more refined, I guess - or go back to a Colony or Clayman sound. I like a lot of Reroute to Remain as well, though I never saw it as a metallic record. It seemed to have more keyboard/nu-metal influences on it.

I think it's pretty much established by now that they won't go back to the TJR/Whoracle/Colony/Clayman era of sound. And R2R was metallic, the snare drum was metallic as fuck, almost even comparable to Metallica's St.Anger, also, the distorted basslines and the haunting synths made it all feel kind of metallic, wroguht, and I digged that. I don't mean more "metal", if you thought that's what I'm going for. I mean metallic as in metallic-sounding
