Fuck anyone who pits beatles members against each other

Nah, Lennon broke up the Beatles, that's a fact. Acknowledging their faults isn't pitting them against each other.
|

people love to pit them against eachother tho. and Lennon was the brains of the org.

It was a combination of McCartney and Lennon, but it was mostly McCartney

Taxman is the best song on here and George Harrison is the greatest Beatle [2]

Wrong, it's Tomorrow Never Knows

I think ur confusing being the “figurehead” of the org with being the “brains.” If Paul had complete creative control over the band, they would’ve never transitioned so heavily into psych music post-65, and their classic albums wouldn’t be revered as classics. Would’ve changed the whole landscape of pop music. Lennon’s important.

Paul was the extroverted, lovable icon, John was the reserved, mysterious genius. Need them both.
And George is the Holy Spirit.

i mean Sgt Pepper was largely Paul’s creation and had relatively little creative input from John so idk about that

As was Let It Be, although Phil Spencer made changes to the overall sound, Let it Be was entirely Paul's idea.
Revolver was really a Harrison/Lennon album, but after that (other than White album), McCartney and Martin began to exert heavier control over the music.

I think Paul has more raw musical ability than John did but John’s songwriting went in what were often more interesting directions, that’s why as a duo they were so amazing

Agreed, but I would argue Harrison had the ability to write AND had raw musical ability!
