problem with this album is that the first 4 songs are great and then there’s just a huge nosedive in quality. It Ain’t Easy, Hang On To Yourself, Ziggy Stardust and Suffragette City are not good songs

I can agree that the first four tracks are maybe the best, but every other song on the album is still rly solid. Suffragette City is underrated

Ziggy Stardust isn’t downright awful but it’s so generic, instrumental is lifeless. on the chorus at 1:12, the vocals sound so tinny and randomly loud. then that guitar part at 1:35, the guitar sounds out of tune, or like whoever played it was fretting the strings so hard that it changes the pitch

I've listened to this album a bajillon times and just now realized that four different tracks have some form of the word 'Star' in the title 🙈

5th listen, the first 4 songs have only continued to grow on me and Lady Stardust is pretty good but I genuinely fail to see how It Ain't Easy, Star, Hang On to Yourself, Ziggy Starfust, Suffragette City or Rock N Roll Suicide are particularly good songs in the context of albums like Hunky Dory and Aladdin Sane

ziggy stardust is a classic tune. i do agree the album is front-loaded BIG TIME, but the latter half is filled with some downright great rock tunes like suffragette city and star. also rock n roll suicide is a beautiful outro
