I don't get the negative side of being too unique, they had their sound down and it was amazing. Quite difficult to find smth like that nowadays.

Unique isn't always positive. Too much can go a little too far and start to lose it's appeal.
Fables was weird in almost all that right ways for me. I dunno what it is about this one, but aside from a few highlights, I just didn't find this near as interesting.
