I think i figured out one reason why i like this more than their first 2 albums. It occured to me that these guys are definitely better when they're not trying to sound "theatrical", and i don't hear a lot of stuff on here that fits that description. Yeah, it's still fucking cheesy as hell, but not so much so that it ever becomes cringeworthy. Just a lot of fucking fun.

After reading Rody's lyric explanations, I can honestly say everything lyrically but the "Everyone knows cancer...etc." line was done excellently. Hair-Trigger being about cigarettes, and The Reign of Unending Terror being about Propagandhi, I really grew to love Rody's lyrical concepts.

Alternative Press has some. I like how Tapestry is basically just the TNG episode in song form.

star trek the next generation. in tapestry picard gets a choice to live out his life either as he did originally, after being stabbed in the heart, or on an alternate path. on the alternate path, the one where he's not stabbed, he becomes a no-name officer in star fleet rather than the hero he does on his regular path, hence the "sometimes a knife right through your heart is exactly what you need" line.

I wasn't pointing out that they were nerdy, though, I was explaining the reference.

anyone else jaw drop the first time they heard "you knew it was gonna leak eventually and eventually it did?" on the leaked copy.

Also was anyone else slightly creeped out by the "be careful what you're looking at because it might be looking back" line

I was like oh shit maybe Protest found a way to find out who's downloading the leak.

I wasn't pointing out that the band was nerdy, I was pointing out Tyler as being nerdy for knowing that.
