andcas, it definitely grew off me, but don't let any thing stop you. It just doesn't compare to any of their previous works in my opinion. Save Me, God Hates Us (a song I kind of like more now) and Fiction are my favorites.

Besides Save Me I really like Natural Born Killer and Welcome to the Family. Those are the only songs I'd really listen to anymore. The only song I think is awful is Buried Alive.

Shadows' clean vocals these days are starting to annoy me. He sounded great in the first two A7X albums but now sounds whiny, especially in this album.

Their new song "Not Ready to Die" sounds like a cross between an OK Waking the Fallen song and their new generic sound.

^agreed. his voice is decent here compared to the previous albums, but not as good as on waking the fallen

I really don't hear much of a difference between these latest three albums. Either way, his best were in Sounding the Seventh Trumpet when he still sounded raw.

Were you replying to me or just making a statement? I'm not quite sure what you are talking about.

Oh definitely, he sounds great in Save Me. The problem I guess is that is used to scream verses instead of yelling them as he does now, and that yell adds the whiny tone.

One song D:, he only screams in God hates Us.

The reason I rate the self-titled higher is because the guitar is more interesting to me and never got boring, but the vocals here I would say are better overall.

Andcas I stated this in the Waking the Fallen page but did you notice that the instruments are really cramped in that album compared to all of their other releases?

I feel the same way about the majority of Nightmare.

I stated this in the Waking the Fallen page but did you notice that the instruments are really cramped in that album (waking the fallen) compared to all of their other releases? It's not terrible but I've tried two different rips from the internet and both have the same problem, both encoded at high bit rate
