Am I the only one who thinks their first E.P. is much more exciting than this? IDK this album was slightly disappointing

when it finally came out

While I love TITW, nothing on it is as exciting and enticing as The Mile.

i think i might actually be more excited for new Dead Letter Circus than new Karnivool

DLC will be more accessible, Karnivool will be another grower.

I'm just really digging Lodestar

There is nothing generic about DLC and same can be said for Karnivool, calling them generic is showing your complete lack of understanding for this music.

I can dig that you don't like it, that's completely understandable as I'm not a huge fan of Karnivool , but I'm sure I should be (I have guilt, lol) and I'll never take anything away from them as they are always pushing the envelope and doing something different so I have heaps of respect for them.

DLC has such fast paced music that takes all of your mind to fully digest, but at the same time they open up into such beautiful crescendos and melodies that make me jump out of my skin, the drummer follows the tempo of the music instead of providing a simplistic heart beat that will eventually bore me like so many bands tend to do. I am yet to find any music as so utterly exhilarating (Perhaps Muse in their earlier days) as DLC.

You can not like them, that's cool but think about what you are posting before you use the word "Generic" in the same sentence as such a band that is trying to be different and executing their layered and uplifting sound so brilliantly.

Lol wtf, are you serious kid? So faced paced it takes all your mind to fully digest? Alright man.

On another note, their two new songs are doing absolutely nothing me and I pre ordered that really snazzy vinyl. I swear, almost everything I've pre ordered this has disappointed.

They're both pretty shit too. Like Thieves is the better band, but it's really just a shit version of TBE. Dude has issues leaving such a good band for three really fucking boring ones. His vocals have gotten much worse too

3 bands? Given Things, Like Thieves and what other one?

I actually kinda like The Given Things.. hell, it's a 4 song EP.. who knows where they'll go from there

It was a terrible terrible nu metal band a couple of years back, a thousand needles or something. Awful stuff.

The Given Things are just boring man, middle of the road rock n roll. Where will they go from there? Probably more middle of the road rock n roll.

That Like Thieves EP, the last two songs on that were actually quite good and different.

Lol'd so hard. This is exactly the kind of music that leaves you NOTHING once you've heard it. As I said, I've tried really hard with this and it's worse with every spin.

Also, learn to read. I've never said Karnivool was a generic band, if you're gonna quote me, do it right. I've rated Themate 4 and SA 4,5.

Don't type a sentence that says :

"It's just like generic rock bands like Karnivool have done way better before"

And wonder why people think you are calling Karnivool generic.

Perhaps word it a bit better?

The more I listen to it, the more I can appreciate the depth, feeling and power of the songs. This album has stepped up to a 4.75 over time. Such brilliance and originality cannot be packed in such a small space. The first 8 songs are all fucking amazing. Any song that gives me goose bumps has got my vote and after my 6th or 7th listen of this, I can duly say that this would have to be one of my all-time favourite albums.

Get this album any way you can.
