Beggars was written to be played live. Saw them a few months after they'd released it and all of the Beggars songs were so freaking amazing. Of course, that's no different from the other songs....

Yeah this album translates live better than their other material, because its so much more stripped down and has that kind of "4 guys jamming in a room" kind of feel. I don't think it's their best album but it's the one I enjoy listening to most.



Maybe a strange thing to complain about but I wish they fleshed out some of the chords a bit more. This is almost too stripped down in that a lot of the harmony is implied. Some songs like circles would be stronger IMO if they didn't beat around the bush quite so much

vheissu is like so far from the best thrice. like artist is my personal favorite but everything else they've done is solid too except vheissu

Can't go wrong if you start with Illusion or Artist and then work your way chronologically from there.

I found this album to be pretty decent, I'd say it's better than Vheissu but weaker than The Artist in the Ambulance.
