This is the best Post Metal/Neurosis album. No Doubt.

Not my favorite, but definitely their best pre-TSiB

Thanks. For me, this one and Enemy of the Sun are the only really awesome Neurosis albums. They got too lethargic after that.

In fact, this conversation has inspired me to throw on The Word as Law while I make dinner. That's an underrated Neurosis album right there.

That's the only pre-TSiB Neurosis I haven't listened yet. In fact I'll put it on right now.

Well this is much better than their debut...

Yeah. You can start to hear the beginnings of their sound. Especially on songs like To What End and Day of the Lords (I know that one is a cover, but still).

Yep, I'm getting some Souls at Zero vibes from this. The bass is pretty sweet in all these songs.

Yeah. The bass player really shows his shit on that album. It's one of the reasons I like it so much.

It's a bunch of people that found Neurosis after TSIB and eventually worked backwards. Fuck those people ;)

Haha pretty much. I do agree with the average on Pain of Mind. It's a pretty sloppy album.

Album Rating: 4.8
Yeah. That's an average album no matter whose name is on the cover.
