Parallels, you're a better person for not

"the fuck does the last part of that sentence even mean? He struggled with drugs, so it's original?"
The topic of rapping about struggling with drugs is an entirely original concept, you said this album isn't original and is just him saying the same thing he already said.
"You say his lyrics are too complex for me because he's making references to old-school rappers, I say that referencing old school rappers does not equal complexity."
The old school references are just one of many ways hes over your head. Its not even as much that hes over your head, its that when the biggest event of your life was getting your drivers license, you don't need to go around calling music dumb/bad just cuz you can't relate to it.
"This is one of them; not every portrayal of the government as a dystopian society is a direct reference to 1984."
He makes countless direct references to 1984 and samples the movie... how original for him to come up with his own government-dystopia, i mean he added robots, right?
Seriously, early El-P is complete trash, he has one of the worst flows i've ever heard, you can't even call it flow

Yes, yes, y'all, and you just don't fucking stop
"The topic of rapping about struggling with drugs is an entirely original concept, you said this album isn't original and is just him saying the same thing he already said."
No, it's not, and never said that. You're either getting defensive about imaginary arguments, or you exaggerate them far past anything I actually said.
"The old school references are just one of many ways hes over your head. Its not even as much that hes over your head, its that when the biggest event of your life was getting your drivers license, you don't need to go around calling music dumb/bad just cuz you can't relate to it."
It's these moments that make me wonder if you're even serious at all.
"He makes countless direct references to 1984 and samples the movie... how original for him to come up with his own government-dystopia, i mean he added robots, right?"
More original than struggling with drugs. This, right here, is what makes you so fun to argue with.
"Seriously, early El-P is complete trash, he has one of the worst flows i've ever heard, you can't even call it flow"
Hip-hop isn't all about flow.

rip eminem. he died at his own encore.
|
| |
"No, it's not, and never said that. "
Ok, then when did he rap about struggling with drug addiction before this album?
yeah, you did say that:
"it's becoming more and more obvious over time that he's run out of things to talk about, and I'm fairly sure he's even mentioned it... he's beating a dead horse at this point... but when nearly all of your ideas have been discussed on previous songs, you need to think outside the box a bit, and that doesn't seem like something he's truly able to do anymore. Expanding on ideas isn't the same as creating new ones
|
| |
Never mentioned this album in particular, and you never specified that it was original within his discography, because in the grand scheme of things, it isn't at all.
Yet again, you're either misinterpreting my points or stretching the living hell out of them.
|
| |
You said "he's beating a dead horse at this point." When this is his most expirimental album hitherto
Im not exagurating or mistaking your points, you are backtracking from invalid points while trying to maintain that your thesis is still valid while offering no other justification.
In other words; PWNED 😄
|
| |
but wait.. moreeeee.. LambsBread
|
| |
Beautiful is great and Crack a Bottle was a pretty great single, otherwise this album kinda blew. I'm not a big mm dude anyways though.
|
| |
This point =/= 2009
"Im not exagurating or mistaking your points..."
Really? You can't even reiterate them correctly.
"you are backtracking from invalid points while trying to maintain that your thesis is still valid while offering no other justification."
...and how exactly are you validating your points? Wouldn't matter anyways, half of them barely qualify as comprehensible.
"In other words; PWNED 😄"
The simple fact that you felt compelled to write this means you're taking this way too seriously.

Don't act like a snobby model
|
| |
Wait wait wait, I'm being snobby?
"It sounds to me like you'd rather listen to some fake Kanye West type shit where the artist brags about made up bullshit or raps about shit he knows nothing about to try to give his music some diversity in subject matter."
"the fact that you can't enjoy this great of a story and respect him for what he is, without him randomly making up shit for the sake of diversity, just shows you like fake commercial rap and not real emcee shit."
"its annoying to me because I used to think exactly like you before I remembered to appreciate eminem you actually have to LISTEN to the lyrics, you cant just skim through his shit, theres so much non-lyrical rap today that I actually forgot how to listen to eminem, so did you"
"nah his lyrics just go way over your guy's head because you are too busy listening to over produced lyrical-retards like kanye west so you've lost all appreciation for poetry/wordplay/rhyme structure in rap"
"you rate a few rap albums in the last two weeks to get your hip hop pie chart up to a measly 25% and have the nerve to talk about needing more hip hop heads in the presence of a pie chart like mine"
"no he doesn't pick up a theasuraus and rap about meaningless abstract robot shit like El-P and Aesop rock, but yeah his lyrics are more complex than a plebe like you will ever get cuz they are filled with old school hip hop references of artists that rocked before you were ejaculated from your daddy's nutsack."
"its annoying how obviously over their heads Eminem is"
"maybe to people who have heard like 3 hip hop artists in their life. Eminem is far more consistent and he puts more wit into one bar than El-P puts into entire albums "
"yeah the point of my comment was hes NOT reiterating the same topic and you are too obtuse to actually listen to what he is saying without shutting your brain off"
"ts the way he references old school hip hop artists that you are too young to know of, then you start whining about "HIS LYRICS AREN'T THAT COMPLEX' cuz you don't even get the double entendres"
"yeah the validity of my arguments isn't determined by whether or not a stubborn obtuse kid on the internet swallows his pride and agrees with them"
|
| |
cont.
"In other words you are a joke clinging onto stupid catchphrases that were played out a decade ago."
"The old school references are just one of many ways hes over your head. Its not even as much that hes over your head, its that when the biggest event of your life was getting your drivers license, you don't need to go around calling music dumb/bad just cuz you can't relate to it."

^Funny how you didn't even have the balls to take a joke about your username.

Album Rating: 3.0
Probably a Lambs alt.
|
| |
Chill out dude it's a lyric from this album lol...
|
| |
Deja vu is so real... Hate that people compare this to his early mainstream shit
|
| |
I still can't believe that Eminem fans exist.

Can hardly believe it myself, but there's more than ever today. SSLP and MMLP, couldn't give a shit about anything else tbh.
|
| |
He has some good songs here and there and he's a pretty good story teller and no one can deny that Eminem has some crazy bars, but overall he's just not that good. His best albums are B+.
