only took him 8 years, which is a modest half of the time it took for us to get the latest Avalanches record. so hats off to Coldworld.

@osmark Well he obviously had to find time to make it, since he's most certainly not living the life of a full time musician. He could have like three jobs for all we know, but the final product was well worth the wait. It very well may be my aoty so far.

It's mine for sure. I've jammed it 6 times between midnight and now, I'm hooked.

I mean I enjoyed it and all, but it just lacks the powerful melodies and the rawness of this one, it feels so different... will listen to it more ofc, with a more open mind, but it's kinda hard not to compare it to this I guess.

Def isn't as raw as this, but I think it has plenty of melody and sweet riffs/trems.

@mongi: oh I know, I'm in the exact same situation. finding time for work, projects, family, friends, the fiancée etc all takes one helluva time. people living like full-time musicians with a complementary pay-roll are blessed (for lack of a less kvlt term) individuals for sure.

I just love the wider range of emotions he's started to explore. Like this is actually lifting me up, which bm almost never does. This is still a stunning album, but Autumn is like almost heartwarming at times which is crazy.

Autumn is sounding more polished and diverse than this so far. Easy contender for my metal AOTY.

Also yes Mong the closer on this is awesome, am hoping the closer on Autumn lives up since it's a direct sequel.

Noice, also Womb of Emptiness is incredible so far. His clean vocals over those post-rock guitars is bliss. I definitely get what you were saying on the previous page about the positive emotions this brings out in certain places.

Not as aggressive as melancholie. I miss the blast beats in particular. Love the album though.
