this album keeps slipping off my radar...it just does nothing for me and i feel like skipping most of the songs...it's pretty much like every other opeth album and i thought a couple weeks ago i had finally found that peth album i could love...i guess i'll keep looking...

Still Life is fine how it is. Why would they re-record it?

Yes, there is. It has revamped artwork and a DVD containing Face Of Melinda.

It sounds a sight better, it's touched up in just the right way imho.

This has some of if not the best production of any Opeth album though.

I don't love Ultra Beatdown THAT much, i'm just saying i may like it slightly more than this, which has grown off me considerably. I loved this at first, it was my third favorite album from 08 for the longest time, but it just hasn't struck as brilliant as most other Opeth albums have.

I only downloaded UB a few weeks ago, i'm not gonna review something that soon after i hear it, i need it to sink in.

I highly doubt the shred/soloing of Dragon force, no matter how good, could top the superb dynamics on this album, but I will reserve further judgment. I would love to see Herman Li and the gang shut everyone the hell up about their same-y-ness

Well it's just my opinion I didnt even say that I was sure i liked it more. Its just i listened to both albums today and enjoyed Ultra Beatdown more. This could all change, i've given Watershed about 30 listens and UB 3.

I've actually only listened to it twice in the past 2 weeks =p

I got the leaked version though, so it hasnt been 30 listens in a month and a half, more like 2 and a half months. Still a lot, but yeah.

This is so ridiculously good. I just got through listening to it, and nothing really disappointed. (never listened to an Opeth record fully)

This is possibly their easiest album to get through the first time without feeling like you missed much of anything. It's all right up front. Still play this at least once every other day.

It was very easy to listen to, and I'm glad, because I thought I wouldn't like it.

From your taste in music I'm (pleasantly) surprised you liked this. If you're just starting to get into metal, which it seems you are, there's hardly a better place to start imo.

Yeah, I don't listen to lots and lots of metal. I listened to Arghoslent today, and enjoyed that as well.
