It's really well composed, but to me it lacks some of the passion in their earlier work.

Quick question: now that it's fall, is anyone else having the issue of singing the "Spiraling down to the ground below" line every damn time they see a leaf falling? Because that's been the last two weeks for me. And I live near a lot of trees.

Album is still one of the all-time greats. Stood the test of time well.

Yea metal is tough to choose. Lateralus, The Mantle, Panopticon, and this are all up there.

The new Fleshgod Apocalypse gives this a run for it's money on the other hand.

Really as soon as I start I immediately get sucked in and usually have to finish, especially to get to the incredible t/t

Am I one of the few on here who listens to individual tracks off this and not the whole album in a row?

It depends on my mood. Usually I listen to albums, but I have no problem putting my music libraryon shuffle.

Songs like Bleak and The Funeral Portrait are good to listen to by themselves

This album is so fun to play. S/t, Harvest, Patterns I, The Lepper Affinity and especially Bleak are all awesome songs to practice on the guitar. Keep myself busy with them and I'm having a great time.

I am a self learner and tried Bleak some months ago and didn't go very well. Surprisingly, I had no problem with the s/t, I could play it after some days of practice. I used to take guitar lessons which helped me quite a bit. The day before yesterday I tried Bleak again and now it flows perfectly.

I'm a self taught guitarist from playing bass since I was 13, but have tabs for stuff I want to play, which certainly makes

everything easier. The t/t is easier to play than bleak, half of it is pretty simple chords. Bleak has some tougher riffing

especially at the beginning, and that guitar solo about 2/3 through is played weirdly. I still don't know how he does it, I

can play the notes but it just sounds different.
